Rusty spokes

I bought a used Street Bob earlier this week and so far Im really liking it. Problem is the guy I bought it from was not very concerned about keeping it clean. The bike has a good bit of road grime on it and the spokes have not been kept after. Some of them have a little bit of surface rust. Any suggestions on how to remove it and keep it off? The rims look good, like he must have cleaned them and skipped the spokes.

My 04 had almost 2yrs of road and garage grime when I bought her......I used a brass wire brush to remove a lot of the surface crud from the spokes, the brass is soft so won't ruin your chrome. But be warned they aint cheap.

Try some wd-40 and a rag to clean up the spokes. Spokes will probably take some time to clean

Fine steel wool and chrome polish works, or a thing called luster lace

I used wads of aluminum foil dipped in water. It absorbs the oxidation. I heard dipping in coca cola works even better. Very little elbow grease required.
