Default Rust on rims

I purchased a used '06 Street Bob in November of last year. The bike sat in storage and then went to the mechanic to go over. I just got the bike back and started to clean it and found that the stock rims are starting to rust in some areas. It didn't look like the prior owner cleaned them at all. Any suggestions to get rid of the rust?

I use turtle wax chrome polish to keep the rust at bay.

Aluminum foil and water. Wax when done.

I had that happen to my 07 Train and they replaced my front rim. It only took one month to rust.... I was amazed and it took a bit of persistence to get them to do it.

Gotta be 0000 steel wool though. I used to work in a restoration shop and that stuff was the cat's a$$. Takes all the hazing and slight pitting out. Then wax them with a good wax like Collinite or similar.
