I would like to get rid of the muffled tone of the stock pipes on my bike without makingit substantialy louder. I really don't want to join the car alarm club. Can anyone who has used their baffles tell more then "they sound great". How much louder are they. I like to crack the throttle from time to time and wouldn't mind hearing a little noise, I just don't think the people two blocks over would feel the same way. Thanks.
The BCTs are louder, but not obnoxiously so. They are much deeper than the stockers and bass frequencies tend to be more omnipresent. At startup they have a great crack at ignition. They mellow out at cruising speeds though. What I liked most about mine was the ability to get the attention of clueless cagers when I needed to.
BCTs are great baffles; deep rich sound, but they are rather loud in traffic and do set off car alarms... The sound mellows quite a bit once you get to cruising speed. It's a great sound - just as Jake and Scott described.
Just took a set out of my ride. I liked the sound, there was just too much of it. I can't imagine that they could be louder if there was no baffle at all. They are now sitting on my counter in the garage, a lesson that should teach me that some things are better off left alone. I have the V&H quiet baffles in again and they aren't quiet either but, they aren't nearly as loud as the BCT baffles.

It'sa lot of sound for sure...I live out in middle of nowhere; closest neighbors are about a 1/3 mile away and their house is 100' from the road - no big deal out here. If I lived/rode in town on a regular basis, they would probalby be sitting on a shelf as well.
Also noticed that while the BCTsseem to pack some extra mid-range punch, they really fall flat fast at higher rpms.
That is one thing I noticed is that I seemed to lose a substantial amount of torque with the BCT's.
In town and with neighbors who are very nice to me, I don't want to look for trouble where there isn't any. I just thought I should be respectful to the others who live in the neighborhood.
You guys are killing me on this BCT thing. Sound is one thing, but power is another. The BCT's increase your torque and "seat of the pants feeling" I am not sure about the horsepower, but I know my torque increased. IT went from being dead in 1st to snappin' my neck. I have always had decently loud pipes, so I guess I dont notice the sound

I'm surprised you say significant. Are you running a stage 1 with download or SERT? Is it possible your bike was not properly tuned in the first place?
I put the BCT baffles in my SEII a couple of weeks ago and had to adjust the VE tables to reduce the decel popping, which I had tuned out with the stock SEII baffles. I really can't feel any difference in torque.
