i picked something up in back tire and my question is can a motorcycle tire be fixed or should i play it safe and get a new one
the hole is the size of a 16 penny nail want to be safe and was wondering if it is like a car tire and just put a patch in it

You will get many yes/no answers to this question. I say no problem especially since a Dyna uses a tube anyway.

Super Glides don't run tubes.

To the OP:
Plug it and roll on. I've run 1000's and 1000's of miles on plugged tires

Like others have said, just plug it. My last two tires were punctured almost immediately after purchase. I still put a few thousand on each before I finally replaced them.

It can be safely plugged, but personally, I wouldn't be able to trust the tire after that. If I could afford it, I would buy a new one just for peace of mind.

If the tread is more than 50% worn, I'd replace it. If I were taking a ride 2-up in the Calif desert in the summertime...

Plug it and be done with it.

I've plugged so many tires in the past without problems even on my race bikes. If they can be plugged, I wouldn't even blink twice with a cruiser tire which takes much less of a load.

What he said. The one thing I do when I put in a plug: I keep a can of vulcanizing cement and dip the string-type plug in it before I put it in and I twist it several turns before I pull out the tool. Works good, lasts a long time
