Default Poor Throttle Response

Hey guys,
I've got a 2008 Street Bob with 16'' apes and extended cables. I bought the bike used with the previously mentioned set up. However, there is a lot of grittiness and tension in the throttle. It is very hard to turn and it sluggishly snaps back into place. I've tried adjusting the cables to no result. Is it because there is so much extra cable or a different problem?

Thank You

Cable routing, kink or throttle tube problem. Does it have hand guards?

Try lubing the cables, if that doesn't work you may have some frays in there... change the cables if that's the case

Your cable in the throttle has come out of the "seat"

There are two cables that connect to the throttle in your hand. I'd bet one of them is not in the slot properly and its binding as it turns

Take off your throttle grip. Re install the wires and ensure nothing is binding

Any time I have felt grit in the throttle it's due to the cables binding up at that location

And when you have the cables off, remove the twist grip, clean everything inside and out, put some dry graphite lune inside and out before re-installing cables. Do it all at once

Take the throttle housing apart, inspect, lube cables, reinstall.
