Quality issues??

and, I usually don't admit neglecting mine either but I do sometimes...and sometimes there is a price to pay for it...like rust...

anyway, Harleys are freakin' expensive to purchase and maintain, and they are not necessarily built with the best quality materials, and folks complaining about their first Harley is pretty much normal...but buying another one and complaining is well...the definition of insanity.
If I know it's gonna rain for a week straight and I'm not planning on using the bike, I usually clean it, and the put the cover on... But on a daily basis the answer is no..
rant-complain...same same, sometimes.

We like the bikes enough to put up with it, but it doesn't mean that we shouldn't complain.
Not really. Repeat buyers complain about all sorts of quality issues, from cam chain tensioners to crankshaft runout to inner primary bearing failure to charging system stator failures. On and on.

I don't complain about it, I just fix it and move on....But then I don't buy these new cheaped down Harleys.
Nothing newer than '02 is my motto.
I have one, but it rarley get used because of the heat these bikes produce. If I can't put it on when I park the bike, it's not going on at all.

I live in a very harsh environment, park my bike outside uncovered, and I am pissed that it rusted is...insanity.
You never had a problem with your Japanese bikes? When I kept a 1981 Honda CB-750 under a cover outside IT rusted, and I live nowheres near salt water. I think the solution is for you to buy a PLASTIC motorcycle. A Honda Pacific Coast 800 would be perfect for you.
