Full coverage insurance is all you need to avoid the trouble of locking your ignitions? Really?
That's a big part of why our insurance is so high...We all have to pay for laziness.
Our insurance is high because insurance companies are the equivalent of the mafia....and the government has fallen into bed with them by forcing insurance...which means they can raise the cost using whatever reasoning they want...
Wife and I ran across town to hit a Dollar General one evening, bike had been
running earlier. Left the key on the bench in the garage and the ignition was
locked but not to the far left.
I pull up, lock it over, come out and damn who can I call? Explaining how you
road a bike across town with no key and then lock it with no key is a bitch!

Oh I hear ya! It's just (the older bikes anyway) you can walk by and tell if it's
unlocked. Thieves know this, or alot of them anyway. I get 10 grand if my '90
comes up missing but I wanna keep my bike! It's an ol' school biker thing!

I get ya....I love my bike...but I also know if they want it that bad...they are taking it....and well...it isn't that hard to do...
My key stays on my key rig for truck keys, house, and work keys. So I never leave my house without my keys. I also always lock at least the ignition no matter where I get off unless I put my bike into my boss' garage while at work, even at home I lock it up.
Not a hassle at all to lock up the ignition ever time. I flip it open when I turn the ignition off, then grab my key out of pocket, lock and close. Takes 10 seconds. And every once in a while I'll lock the steering, and if it's going to sit for a while in town like a parking garage I lock both locks and put on a disc lock.
