Davedoodles, I wonder how long the SS ruler bracket will last before it cracks from vibration. It looks good and you did a clean job. How is it that an Australian has a Dudley Perkins license plate frame?
That name stirred up memories... I used to go across the Golden gate bridge to SF & get parts from them in 1973 when I rebuilt my '46 knucklehead engine and trans.
So far the ruler is strong, no signs of cracking. Been on there a couple of years and no rust etc. I tried to be precise with the bends (did a couple of tests then set it up in a vice and clamped the other end flat) to avoid needing to need to re-bend it etc (that would certainly quickly weaken it). So far, it's been fine, seems to be a fairly tough/springy blend of stainless. Then again the turn signals are only small/light.

The Dudley Perkins plate frame I picked up at a swap meet in SF a few years ago when I was there briefly with my Dad - It was only a couple of bucks, but it is a neat nod to history - DP is apparently the oldest HD dealer in the world.

Thanks Blackbear, yours too. Funny, I thought about doing it your way and knew it would produce a stronger bracket, but I was lazy!

Say, what's your review of those Joker Machine units? I tossed up between the Ness ones I used, and those. I went with the Ness because I figured their teardrop/oval base was more like the OEM sigs, and I might mount them back on the struts one day, but never did.

Does anyone have a recent review on Alloy Art strut lights, I was looking at these because the blend right in, are they less visible than the factory tail lights?
