Default Hard starting?

I have a 07 street bob and sometimes after i get done riding it and i go to start it when its hot it seems like it has a problem turning over. it doesnt start as good. it only does it occasionally. but one time it wouldnt start at all and i waited 10 minutes and it fired rigt up hasnt done it since. what could it be. And also sometimes when i start it up it backfires as soon as i start it up. it has a fuelpak and big radius

I'm not too sure about bikes, and I haven't noticed my 07 SB doing it, but on my 65 Chevy truck... the Hooker headers cook my starter and cause it to act that way. I went through 3 starters in 1 year. I upgraded toa High Temp-Gear Reduction starter andheat shielding to try to fix the prob.If you spent a lot of time at idle or ran it hot it may be a similar problem...?

I heard of PCIII having hard starting problems does this hurt anything or does it just take longer to start?

If you have a power commander on it, it may have a programing issue. I have a carbed dyna and i havent seen a PC before but I have used aftermarket enigne controlers on cars.

If it has a timming adjustment capability you may consider pulling some timming out to help on the hard starts.

It's most likely your map in your PCIII

I talked to my dealer's lead mechanic about this today. He says he was able to get mine to "start hard" when hot as well as another 07 Heritage today. I would describe it as something like I would expect with a high compression engine with no compression relief valve. He agreed. In addition to the two he saw first hand today, he said he had others comment on it. At this point we are writing it off as just a characteristic of the new 96 twinkie. However, will continue to watch for developments. I am always able to start it. Just sometimes have to get off the starter and hit it again. It then fires right up.

Both my 07 Bob and a mate's 07 Low turn a bit before firing up when they're hot.... both have oem tuners and aftermarket slipons (different makes)....
His also seems to backfire more often than my does....
