Just fit mine today. Love the way it looks, and the light, my god the light! Its bright. It oozes quility.
2 things:
Got it flush in the bucket, after some moving a grooving (2007 FXD), but the trim ring is a tad spread out. So much so, I had to use a longer screw, and there is a gap of about 3/4 inch on the bottom. Anyone else?
Also, did you guys have to change the aim? I have not adjusted it (yet) and have not ridden at night, but eyeballing it on the garage door, it seems a tad high.
Just finished my install today also. Had to grind a good amount off of some of the fins to get it to fit but finially got it. Yes my ring is much more spread out than stock. Used the stock screw but just barely got full coverage in the nut. I haven't adjusted mine yet and really not sure the proper way as on low beam there is not a direct beam to focus on the garage door, once the center light kicks on with the high beam though it does seam a bit high. These things are brite and as long as it lasts well worth the investment.
I'm very pleased with my gen 1 light from Moto Illumination. All I had to do to mine was add a little weather stripping around the edge so it fit nice and snug. It's about eleventy billion times better than the stock headlight.
Just installed mine last night! Super bright! I believe the high and low beam is wired backwards, but I don't plan on running it on low beam anyways. I had to remove the silver ring inside the bucket to get it to sit inside. I was able to get the trim ring tightened with the stock bolt once i removed the internal ring. 2015 fxdb
Ok question. Are all the outer lights supposed to be low beam. That's the way mine works then when I switch to high beam they stay on and the center lights turns on also.

I would say so..... On low beam all of the lights on mine are on... High beam the center light goes out... Figured it was wired backwards... I'll leave them all on anyway..
Looking at one of these for my 2010 FXDC -
Questions
has anyone installed the LED on one? and if so have you had any problems with the trim ring fitting. If there is a problem with the trim ring has anyone found an alternative ring that would fit.
Thanks
Yes, my ring is a bit spread out. Longer screw. The gap seems worth it to me to have the light. Ill check it a few times after rides, but I don't think the headlight can fall out. I'm going to replace the machine screw I used with a SS one like stock, but longer, when I have the time to go to Nutty Co.
I put my gen 2 in yesterday. All i can say is wow! This light is serious! Well worth the money, and ryan was wuick to respond to a little issue i had with install. Had to use a longer screw on the outer ring for my 2001 fxdx. A few of my buds with daymaker's are pissed they paid so much for a inferior light.
