I am having a very similar problem with my LRS at the moment. I got stuck last weekend when I parked the bike and realized my "calipers" had been dripping and leaking on the ride and my bike was now covered in brake fluid. So I cleaned it up and had it towed home then to HD today for work. However, there is now more of a problem with mine and possibly yours as well.
I had wrapped a few a few towels around the leaking caliper so it wouldn't leak and sit on the wheel over the weekend. Well this morning when I was prepping the bike for pickup, I saw another pool actually on my wheel lip. It was NOT from the caliper though. Looking closer, it seems my "wheel bearing" is now leaking fluid as well. It was really wet inside the joint there and the puddle on the wheel ran directly to that spot. So now the caliper AND the bearing. This bike is really fast becoming a lemon.
In 9 months of ownership - with a total of 3,100 miles total - I have not gotten stranded twice needing a 4AM tow and have had 4 major repairs:
New Battery needed because the bike would just not start after running fine and being out during the day. Was in the shop 2x for the issue BEFORE they fixed the battery.
New seal needed because the primary case was leaking.
New seal needed because an engine o-ring was leaking.
New brake caliper needed because something is leaking and causing the fluids to leak out during riding and leaving me out on the bike with no brakes.
And NOW, something is wrong with the wheel bearing.
Back to to the shop for more work and repairs.
All work, service, and maintenance done at local HD as required.
Dont know what's going on with the bike as I've never had an HD continually break down like this needing repairs, especially being brand new.
Anyone else having problems like this?
Any suggestions on what I can do or expect from HD?
Thanks

So it turns out that it was also the a wheel bearing seal that had went as well. After HD picked up the bike, I got a call the next day saying one of the seals in the fork tubes had blown and that was the pink fluid leaking all over. They said they looked at the other side and it was fine so they only replaced the one. Don't know how I feel about that actually as the other one is now likely to go before the new one will since they will have different lifespans from one another.
Any thoughts about all these problems? Suggestions, tips, etc.? First HD I've ever really had "problems" with.
Anyone know where I can get a brass headlight grill to fit. The only ones I've found were for a 7 inch headlight (from headwinds) or the cheap Chinese eBay ones that say they are 5 3/4 for a sportster. I'm not sure those would even fit and the pictures show the terrible quality. I'm thinking I might have to go black and paint one but I'd rather have solid brass.
Try Lowbrow Customs and Dime City Cylces. They both have a good selection of bobber-style accessories.
I'm looking to get 2" or 3" bar risers till I get new bars. Question is. By adding bar risers does it also add a little more pull back? The stock bars are too far forward for me and it kills my back. I'm hunched over and a couple of inches back will do wonders for my back.

I have not had anything so major, just a couple of ****ling issues. One is that the left fork cap is cross-threaded and will not come out. The other is that the security light and high beam indicators will stay on after I wash the bike. Once everything dries out, it is fine. I also continuously get VIN err from overdraw on cold starts. Nothing that I would call a catastrophic component failure as you are experiencing.

They will be closer but probably still not perfect. They're "good enough" though in the meantime if you're trying to save some money. I'm 5'7" with really long arms but I don't feel like I need taller risers, more like some bars with a little more pullback. This in term would mean I also need extensions for some wires and clutch cable so I'm holding off on it for a bit.
