i was coming home after a little ride, and i was in my residential neighborhood near my house, i was traveling about forty mph, and ahead of me traveling in the same direction was a guy on a bicycle, as i approached and got within 30 feet or so the guy decided to cross the street right in the path of my bike, i had to lock em' up and went a little sideways, just then at the last second he turned his head saw me and bailed off the bike taking it with him into a grassy area,
i turned around to see if he was alright, he was. so i asked him if he heard me coming and he said no, damn stock pipes from the moco are just too quiet, i need to make it a priotity to get some aftermarket exaust and crank up the decibels, thats twice in two weeks that i had to take some sort of evasive action to avoid an unpleasant topple, the other was a cage driver that changed lanes right on top of me,
i had the sporty with samson exaust for many years and only a handful of times has something like this occured you can hear it a mile away, this is two near misses in only two weeks for the bobber
it pisses me off that the moco puts these bullshit exaust systems on their bike, knowing its the first thing most will try and change just to get that harley sound
no truer word were ever spoken than loud pipes save lives, so please my brothers and sisters drive defensively and get something on nyour bike that sounds like armegeddon when your traveling down the road

Glad you're safe! I used the "cagers need to hear me" excuse to get louder pipes. I've done the rev thing countless times since. My 06 sounded like a sewing machine with the stock pipes.
Cheap, cool sound: Slip-on mufflers with Big city Thunder baffles
are you blaming HD for the fact that a bicyclist darted
across the roadway without looking behind before doing so??
It pisses you off??

lol, indeed...the pipe debate....I think that a number of factors can effect a positive or negative outcome....one being how you ride and how much you pay attention and anticipate...that said, there is also the "notice me" factor....things like loud pipes, flashing lights and so fourth...... I personally like loud pipes....and I'll use safety or whatever excuse I have to to get them....lol.
