To make little boys ask questions, do you think it will work?
Just kidding. It is to change the look of something we don't like into something we do like. I didn't like placement of the stock coil. I didn't like how it was closer to one cylinder, causing a need for one of the plug wires to be longer then the other. I looked at the D.K. relocation kit but I didn't like a couple of things about it and I wanted to make my own.
Looks like it's going to work.
Are you going to route the plug wires up the backbone and keep them hidden?
Yessir. I've got a bag of those adhesive backed zip-tie anchors that I'm hoping will keep them tight to the underside of the backbone. I still need to finalize the route into the box.

I might eventually get some 5mm wires and run them inside the backbone but that's gonna require pulling the engine and I didn't really want to dig that deep this year.
This may or may not work, but have you thought about just throwin' the whole damn electrical "stuff" in this and running One shrink wrapped harness "south"
I guess the old saying goes, to each his own. I'm just not a big fan of this. I think it looks good where it is and if Harley thought any different they would've done it. But that's just my opinion.

Doing it is nothing new really. There are a ton threads from various forums on this. The goal is to de clutter the motor and usually the horn and coil are the worst offenders. Exile makes a kit that works for softails. DK makes one that kinda changes it up a bit. Ive see guys cut a slot in the spine and stuff it in in there..I'm a fan when its done right.
