Laying out the seat mounting tabs and grabbed a couple better pics of the seat. I'm going to add some black stain here and there to refine the wear pattern a bit. Too random at the moment. Many thanks to Chris at Retail Leather for the fine seat.

Yep, the brackets and breathers are on there...

I'm pretty happy with the results. Let's hope it holds up!
The custom, bracketless AC tube has wet paint on it. I'll put it on in a couple days.
i stand corrected on this thread, initially figured just another "what to buy next" kinda build. you definitely got your S.T! hey wont the rocker box breathers drip oil? cool/clean design but i think it's gonna get messy after a few sustained 80 mph rides?

Thanks. I've been running this engine with open breathers for several thousand miles (mostly interstate). Never made a mess. Keep the oil level below max (many recommend 1/2 qt low) and it seems fine. I sometimes get a light darkening around the breathers from oil vapor, but it washes right off.

Fair trade in my mind for the uncluttered look.

Seat tabs are ready to weld. The front might need a bit more height. I'll test sit it before I weld them to the frame.

3/16 cold rolled. Cut on a band saw and profiled with a die grinder. 5/16 x 3/8 shoulder bolts. Temporary. I still need to order the button head stainless ones.

I don't think my *** will be sliding off the back of this one like it did with that LePera Silhouette. It was a good looking seat, but not very functional.

Someday I'll probably hammer out my own seat pan and upholster it myself, but I don't really have those tools and NO experience. I'd like an aluminum pan with a bit more contour in the butt and thigh area.
