Started playing with the front brake tee, too. Nobody seems to publish the dimensions for their bent tube lines and I can't find straights with 37 male flares, so I guessed. It sucked, so I rebent them. Still sucks. :/

I ordered a couple more tonight that look longer. They'll need re-bent, too, but that's OK.

Cranked it, but the battery only lasted a few seconds. That's on my list before I get much further. Wanted to get the smashed exhaust off first.

Oh, I need a set of those tank mounting bolts. The hex head and protrusion of the stock bolt is going to wear my seat improperly.

They started life as these:

McMaster-Carr 97851A203
&
McMaster-Carr 97345A251

I reprofiled the head on the shoulder bolts and adjusted the lengths of one or both ends (I can't remember), then polished. I'm still not totally satisfied that the head diameters are different but it's a damn sight better than what Harley puts on there.

Did you pay $55 for the sets?

Looks like about $59 plus shipping, but that was last year. (be aware that the lengths and diameters I used may or may not work on your bike. Measure and confirm before ordering.

OH, it would be a lot cheaper to use a female threaded rod (standoff, union, etc.) and two screws. I may go that direction myself since the unequal head diameters still bugs me.. Red loctite on one half, tho, so the threaded rod doesn't disappear into the backbone.

Sometimes I get target locked on an idea and better solutions evade me until after it's too late.

EH6943-2520-2.875 (1/4"-20 x 2-7/8" Long x 3/8" diameter) Female Stand-off
or
EH6943-2520-3.000 (1/4"-20 x 3" Long x 3/8" diameter) Female Stand-off

with two 1/4"-20 x 1/2" button head bolts I would think would work just as effective.
