I've had my Fat Bob for about a year. Absolutely love the bike. Only problem, it's been blistering my right leg from day one. Took it to the dealer twice and was told both time, "it's normal". So first I put an FP3 on it to enrich the mixture, hopefully get the exhaust temps down. No luck. Changed the air cleaner, also no luck. Bought a set of V&H big radius as a last ditch effort. When I took the factory exhaust off, I found a severely bent cir clip and a messed up gasket on the front cylinder. This had to have been like this from the factory. New Gaskets, cir clips, and V&H exhaust, problem solved. Could have fixed it for $20 but it gave me a good excuse to do the mods I wanted, so I guess all is well.
i have heard this a lot about the stealer and it seems to me all over the states are they really that lazy to tell everyone that has a problem with their new bikes that is normal what is with that the dealer sucks once you give them your money they want nothing to do with you it seems glad you found the issue and solved it now enjoy and ride the crap out of it
The stealer is still waiting for me to show up for my 1000 miles service.
I learned a long time ago not to trust anyone with my bike.
If there is a problem then it's my fault.
Most bikes would kill to change spots with mine,
Gotta love the Harley Hickies. Glad it was a cheap fix, but not understanding how a damaged exhaust gasket relates to burning your leg? unless the exhaust was blowing out from the head onto your leg? That would have to be a big loud leak I would think.

I'm a short guy. My leg is pretty close to the exhaust flange. It was probably louder than it should have been but being that way from new, there was no change to notice.
Take pics of the clip/gasket and use this as your "TRUMP" card the next time the dealer gets froggy with you. Kinda like the "wait till you see the white of their eyes" kinda thing.
