04-05 may very well use the same frame. This does not mean that they can't drill holes in different locations on any part of the frame. His through rear fender holes (05) are in a different location than my 04. I am sure ALL 04 parts will not fit on 05's.

The link cggorman shows is good...
If the MoCo made/had any changes/differences, They wouldn't be the same exact part# (there can be "letter" revisions, but usually will be backwards compatible)
That's just a fact

I dunno. St. Charles shows the fenders the same on both, too. 59634-02
Also the same strut covers.
I checked sissy bars and side plates, but the super sport doesn't have those as options. They must be crossed from a different model. I checked the sissys from the same years WG and both '04-'05 use the same side plates and backrest.
Just reporting what the parts book says.

I believe you're seeing a difference in your on-hand parts. I just don't see them in the parts book. I can't explain it.
Again, tho...Neither of the DLs have sissy bars listed in the factory parts book. They be cross-referenced from an accessory catalog or factory part from a different model.
I put saddlebags from an 01 Wide Glide on my 05 Super Glide. Bolted up no problem, now getting the Detachable Sissy bar side plates to work along with them without relocating the turn signals was a challenge. I have always thought parts interchange from 99-05?
I bought my bike from the original owner, He said backrest n windshield was on bike at time of purchase. Do you Guys need pictures?

cg, it seems you can never "win" these. You can provide facts, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Either they can/do "get it" or they don't.
...and really, it doesn't matter.
