Default Heat Sheild Problem.

The heat shield on my Vance and Hines Big Radius pipe keeps coming loose. Had the problem about a week ago tightened it up about 200 or so miles later it came loose again. I tightened the twoclamps as tight as they go but still somehow it comes loose. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems in the past and the fix they made. It was never a problem till I took the baffles out. Thanks

It may or may not work, but have you considered a small amount of Loctite on the clamp threads?

Thanks for the ideas guys. Jay I think I am gonna try and throw the locktite on tommorow. I thought of that also but was not sure if that was gonna create any kind of lock in the clamps themselves.
Thanks again
Ken

Even if it did cause any type of issue like that, it's not like you couldn't just snip them off with some tin snips and try different clamps.

Good Luck.

I had a problem with a couple of clamps on my BSS pipes. Just installed new hose clamps and didn't over tighten them. No more problems.
