Default Thunderheader paint?

I ride a 2009 dyna fxd, when I bought the bike the exhaust came and needless to say it looks rather "weather". What kind of paint couldI use on it to make it gloss black that will stand up to the heat?

I would try some header paint you buy at the auto parts store or BBQ paint. Remove system from bike a little sanding, clean it and a few light coats and should be good to go.

The high temp powder coating will look really good for maybe about a hundred miles or so and then it will start to lose it's luster and gradually dull out starting at the exhaust port.

I've been using the semi-gloss BBQ paint from Lowes. It blends perfectly with the original pipe color.

Ceramic coating on headers is the way to go. Check it out on YouTube.

Yup, ceramic is the best bet for pipes. The TH pipe is a hard one to keep the coat looking nice. I've heard that they put out quit a bit of heat is why the coats on all of them look bad fast.

Any paint you use I will guarantee by the end of the season, if that, will start looking like crap. My buddy tried the VHT hi-temp and it started looking shitty real fast, so he did ceramic next and it lasted a long time. If your going to do it get it ceramic coated.

John Deere muffler black, I have a friend that runs it on his headers on a 440 powered drag car. He's tried other paint but likes this one the best.
