I need some help from guys with 412's
I want to put some on my bike but have hard bags with pockets cut for shocks .
I called progressive and they say the diameter is larger than stock shocks but cannot tell me how much ... Could someone with these give me a measurement
AROUND top and bottom of shock?
I would like measurements for both covered and non covered shocks so if you have either and could help me out I would greatly appreciate it
For what it's worth the stock ones measure
Top diameter 8 3/4
Bottom diameter 7 7/8
Ps
I'm not wanting to turn this into a shock thread about which shock is better than another , I am only interested in the diameter of the progressive 412's covered or uncovered
Thanks
I think what you're after is the overall "circumference" of the shock body vs "diameter." In any case, I've measured an old set of std 412's that I have in storage and here are the measurements:
Upper circumference (distance around body of shock) = 9-3/8"
Lower cir. = 8-1/2"
Upper diameter (straight-line distance from one side to other) = 2-3/4"
lower dia. = 2-1/2"
