I had mine done by Advanced Customs Design (Alligator Bob) and I love it. He changed the shape, put on real leather and stingray, and added Pro Pads it is cool IMHO and both y wife and I can feel the comfort. He also had a custom 100th Aniv done and added that to the seat. Obviously you do not have to do all of that but I do love it and the quality and service was great. http://www.alligatorbob.com/ Take a look at the pictures below.

i think you need to include allen at meancitycycles.com. he might be able to help you out.
one of these days i'm gonna send my badlander seat to him for some custom foam.
i traded emails with him - nice guy - seems legit to me - all positive posts on the forum and I beleive he is a sponor.

not sure how any custom fabricator is going to be able to chnge your wifes view without making the seat look out-of-place?

I'm so happy with my Sundowner seat compared to the stock seat that I haven't even thought about improving it.

Mine has the Pro Pad which is a gel.
From the web site:
What is a dry viscoelastic polymer? It is a very soft synthetic rubber that is vulcanized by intensive crosslinking and cured to a stable solid.
Why is it better? The solid state material gives it properties that gels do not have. Namely; load bearing capacity, elongation, elasticity, degree of firmness, and tensile strength. This means the material: provides even weight distribution, dissipates heat better, absorbs vibration 10-15 times better than gels or foams. Wide range of temperatures, -60F to 210F. The results are total comfort for the rider or passenger.

It is a lot better than my stock seat.
