Default Custom seat builder recommendations

While the HD Tallboy seat feels good and fits me good, I just hate the way it looks. I don't ride 2-up so I don't need the oversized back seat. I've been thinking maybe a custom seat builder could give me the rise and rearward position without the silly look. I still have the stock seat so sending it out wouldn't be any inconvenience.

Any suggestions on who to look at?

Mean City Cycles. Just give them a call and they can help you. Great company to deal with.

I'm thinking about sending my seat to these guys. I know people who've had their seats reworked by these guys and have loved it. I bought a custom seat from C&C but it provides very little in the way of a back stop. Seat is great otherwise.

I got a custom seat made by www.sicksaddles.com with gel insert for around $200, have about 10,000 miles on it and it is very comfortable, sets me back about 2" and looks good. And you don't have to send in anything.

Do it yourself!!! Easy!!! Pull the staples from the pan, carve foam to your liking with an electric steak knife. Re staple.

I gave Mean City a call and they said I would get better results to let them mod my tallboy - basically cutting down the ridiculous passenger seat and adding the gel/memory foam to the seat bucket, then modifying the stock low rider seat (which was my original plan). If I'm going to do this, I'll probably opt for a leather cover. They seem like the place to go to, but all in it's about $600. That's a nice chunk of change considering I'm happy with the tallboy except for the look... Not sure now.

If you don't go with leather (and there really is not advantage to it), it should be way cheaper. I would do that...

Look at BMC cobin seats. $400. Either a gunfighter for solo or the gambler for 2 up. BMC just puts a nice twist on the Corbin seats and faster turnaround. The $400 range will get most seats out there. $600 to mod your seat is just insane.
