It appears on the stock tank set up that the bottom portion of the tank rests somewhat on the top of the frame...if that is so, then what, if any, issues are created by raising that up off of the frame...or should I say away from the stock resting place?
I am not even certain to what degree the tank does rest on the frame right now.....it has been something like two years since I had my tank lifted up or off.....I just can't recall.
That was the only thing I wondered with raising the tank up....even 2"
Your kit and price look good. My wife is considering it for her Lowrider. Do you also make/have them for touring bikes? I see them in the J&P catalog but your prices are much better.
I got my lift todayafter ordering it last Thursday.Half an hour after the postman dropped it off I was done. Looks great, I'm very pleased.
In preparation I had loosened the bolts and hand-lifted the tank to be certain there was adequate play in the wires, etc. Iput it back and when I got the kit, Ijust repeated the procedure.
I would have had itdone in less than 10 minutes if I would have had help holding the tank in place--I did it all myself and an extra pair of hands would jhave helped.
Thanks Jackyl for a great and reasonably priced product.
I have...2" on mine, looks good. Had to enlongate the rear hole just a little. From the factory, the tank tab for the rear was welded on crooked...Thanks HD.
First pic is of the bike stock, second is after the lift. Makes cleaning the rocker boxes alot easier.
I haveJackyl's 2" lift on my '07 Bob and highly recommend it. I am replacing the fuel crossover line with one slightly longer. The line rubs up against the frame with the 2". It hasn't caused any problem in the 3K miles since I installed the lift but replacing it for clearance.
