Default Exposed A/C in the rain

So I rode to work today knowing that there was a good possibility of rain on the ride home. I have good gear so I don't stress about getting wet. In the morning I stop at a Convenience store by work for a coffee before heading to the office. I'm sitting there drinking my coffee and let out a big "Oh f*ck"! I realized I left my rain cover for my Tbags sissy bar bag at home.

So I get to the end of the day and it has been raining pretty good for a couple of hours. I get geared up and head out. I'm at a light before I get on the PA Turnpike and let out another "Oh f*ck" and realize I didn't bring the rain sock for my A/C.

I had a few issues on the TP when I tried to accelerate and the engine sputtered. I figured out it's limits to avoid having it suck in much air where it would draw water in. It's a 65 mile commute so I was out there for about an hour and 40 minutes (it's a couple of TP's and a bunch of back roads). Do I need to worry about any issues with the engine with sucking in some of that rain?

Sounds like it cleaned the top of your pistons.
One good reason to like the stock cover.
I modded mine and won't leave home without it.

You mean besides the lesson?
Nope, your good, your engine turned the water to steam and pushed it out the exhaust.

Lightly spray some water on that rain sock and you'll see that the water goes right thru it. Leave it off, hit the gas and go!

Did much the same thing couple years ago with a heavy breather. Same results with the sputtering on accel, just figured the right speed and kept on going.

No problems happened and nothing developed later,so you should be good.

I've ridden 8 hours in a steady rain. No rain sock, no problems.

only thing is the washable elements if saturated, will not flow air, have found that out after cleaning, have to be fairly dry for to breath good.
