So I rode to work today knowing that there was a good possibility of rain on the ride home. I have good gear so I don't stress about getting wet. In the morning I stop at a Convenience store by work for a coffee before heading to the office. I'm sitting there drinking my coffee and let out a big "Oh f*ck"! I realized I left my rain cover for my Tbags sissy bar bag at home.
So I get to the end of the day and it has been raining pretty good for a couple of hours. I get geared up and head out. I'm at a light before I get on the PA Turnpike and let out another "Oh f*ck" and realize I didn't bring the rain sock for my A/C.
I had a few issues on the TP when I tried to accelerate and the engine sputtered. I figured out it's limits to avoid having it suck in much air where it would draw water in. It's a 65 mile commute so I was out there for about an hour and 40 minutes (it's a couple of TP's and a bunch of back roads). Do I need to worry about any issues with the engine with sucking in some of that rain?
Did much the same thing couple years ago with a heavy breather. Same results with the sputtering on accel, just figured the right speed and kept on going.
No problems happened and nothing developed later,so you should be good.
