Default Fat Bob tire question

Just real quick, do any of you Fat Bob owners run radials on your bikes, if so, which ones and what specific sizes? I can only find bias tires in my size, or only the front, but not the rear and vice versa. What is the largest ones I can put on without any mods,or am I stuck in bias land. Getting away from the Dunlops. Looking at Avons or Commander ii

Check out the Pirelli Night dragons, much better than the commander II's.

I run radial Metzeler tires on both the front and rear.

Front size 150/80VR-16
Rear size 180/60HR-16 TL

Avon has these in Radials

AV71 COBRA FRONT TIRE
AV72 COBRA REAR TIRE

Pirelli has the Night Dragon rear in Radial. I didn't see the front in a radial.

This information is based on a quick search of Motorcycle Superstore.

Eric, does your bike roll over into corners well with that 150 on the front.
I had one on a softail once, I took it off. It was too hard to lean over compared to the stock 130.

The Pirelli seems to really get the nod around here.

How do you like your Metzelers?

Reason I ask is; HOGPRO is quoting me a new set of wheels, and they only offer Metz and Avon tires. My experience with Avon has not been a positive one, so I wanted to avoid them.

Just looking for a decent wearing tire that was not greasy in a corner.

Metzeler has been good to me, but that was on a completely different type of bike.

Input is appreciated!

I have not had any issues cornering with the 150mm. I've been running this size for quite a while now and IF there was any issue when I first switched, I certainly don't notice it now. We have quite a few twisties around here and I don't have any complaints with the handling. Maybe your problem wasn't the tire, it was because it was a softail.

I switched to Metzlers after my first tire change and have not ran anything else. I've used the ME880's . I've been happy with the wear/life and they seem to stick nicely. On my most recent rear tire change, I went with the ME888. They are a bit harder compound designed for a bit longer life compared to the ME880. I have noticed that it will break loose a little easier in comparison. I'm now due for a front tire change and will be getting an ME888 up front.
