I want a 2-1 but the thought of some slip ons for half the price is tempting. I bought my bike used and it has the Screaming Beagle slip ons. They are too quiet. My wife says it doesn't sound like a Harley. Those old SE II were really great sounding but I guess the MoCo decided the newer slip ons should be quieter.

That's because the new SE slip on's have Catalytic converters in them, it's now federal law so not really the choice of the MoCo...I'm sure HD is not happy about it because they probably lost business from it.
OP, sounds like the prices are much higher in Canada, maybe you should plan a tour to the States and hook yourself up with some new parts when your here....just a thought.

We live in a 'border town' and do go to the U.S. two to three times a year for a few days on car trips, and I was kinda thinking what you suggested, maybe calling ahead and arranging for parts to bring back while we're there. Just as an aside...I do like your Harbor Freight stores
*Update* I got a set of the Khrome Werks Tapered Slip-On's and took them to a nearby Kawasaki/Suzuki dealer yesterday to have them installed as there is no HD dealer closeby...(mechanic said the carb would not require a rejet with just a change of mufflers).
Have to say they have a decent amount of volume compared to the stock HD mufflers that were on it, they sound close to the HD Screamin' Eagle 11's which were on the Road King I had.
I keep the Dyna parked in my shed and I'm wondering if I should be covering the open ends of the mufflers with something while it's sitting?
^This^
If they have straight through baffles rodents can nest in the pipes & cause a lot of damage. I suggest you put some traps in the shed as mice, rats, & squirrels have a veracious appetite for electrical wiring harnesses on motor vehicles.
When the dealer owner showed me the KW mufflers I could pretty much see through them, so I'm thinking they probably are straight through baffles as mentioned.
I have a couple of mouse traps set-up in the shed but I also have chipmunks on the property of which I have live-trapped some of them as well as having the odd grass snake around (we're in kind of a semi-rural location). Thinking the steel wool idea for the mufflers is definately a good one, and also, I have been parking my Jeep GC further out in the driveway away from the house till I nab more of the munker's. Thanks for taking the time to clue me in.
I have the S&S Slipons and love them..have the deep hot rod sound without being obnoxious ..I will tell you that to get the best sound and performance out of them you should ref lash your ecm with a new tune..ran mine stock, then with just the vied's and then ran them with the tune downloaded from the FP3 and noticed a huge difference in power, smoothness and sound with the reflash..hope this helps.
I have the S&S tapered slip-ons. My 03 Deuce is FI. My father-in-law owned it. He installed an SE high flow air cleaner kit (K&N style air cleaner) and a nice D&D exhaust 2:1 Fat Cat. It sounded like an awesome muscle car, but killed my ears. So I sold and went to stock== way too quiet. Put the S&S's on= sweet. I was lucky to find a pair at a shop in Ohio !! What does a flash do? It seems to run good as is. Is it expensive?
