Maybe someone can help me out? 2014 FXDL when i cruise at around 2500-3500 rpm and then i wide open the throttle it hear some noises coming from the motor. It sound like little tics or cracks, sound is similar to the exhaust tic when it is cooling off when you stop the bike. It doesn't do the sound all the time only when the motor need to use his torque and when i twist the grip fast. Bike is stock as for now but i would like to know if it is normal before i install cams/aircleaner/exhaust/tune.
I have a fairing and it pretty much kill wind noise and reflect motor noise, i heard it can be the engine metal expending and contracting has it have stock curve and they run lean and hot.
Running that 87 octane or mega cut ethenol blend? Detonation causes that music you are hearing.
That sounds reasonable, Cafard; It's an easy enough option to disregard all the pooey about "no issues" with fuel and start running some high octane for a few tank fulls,, I run 91 non-oxygenated in mine.
Definitely sounds like you're describing pinging. Having it tuned should fix that, but it could be caused by carbon buildup in the combustion chamber. A fuel injector cleaner might help, otherwise I've read that misting water through the throttle body when the bike is running can help clean out carbon. It's probably not carbon if its done it since new, or if its low mileage.
Not sure why you fill the need to wide open the throttle it at that RPM but if you must, learn to down shift and of course match the engine speed/mph travel with the throttle as you come out with the clutch and continue opening throttle. It is almost impossible to have a finely tuned engine to match that requirement you are putting to it.. Even changing the timing electronics instant still requires the first few strokes of the motor for it to catch up to the requirements to catch up to the intake fuel and exhaust gasses that simple do not happen instantly like an electrical impulse. The noise you are hearing over that that rpm level and wind noise can be quite damaging. Your engine may need a complete overhaul and you should talk to your local dealer immediately before it completely destructs.

Or good old seafoam in the gas every now and then
Took it with me last week on the road trip to counteract the shady gas stations <br/>
