Im currently on an 2011 iron and looking for an upgrade.
So the dealer has a 2007 wide glide with chromed out club bars and a cobra exhaust. It has about 40k miles on it... Id have to add a few grand on top due to the backwards ways the harleys are priced in israel.
Any opinions on the model? I dig it but the year plus milage are abit much?
Pretty big difference in ride/handling. Have you ridden the DWG yet?
Personally, I don't worry too much about mileage as long as the maintenance history is there. All of my vehicles are high mileage. Sure, stuff wears out and breaks but I do my own repair work.

Nope, as far as comfort, its there. Im tall and a big guy so im sure ill handle it. Im looking for comfort in long rides as well...

The age and mileage are what gets me....
what CG is saying is it's not a bum rider's bike. there are some attributes to consider like the rake and skinny tire upfront. has nothing to do with you being wreckit ralph. the skinny tire wants to follow imperfections in the road and does not lend itself well to stopping when the brakes are applied. i went from a sporty to a wideglide. takes some adjusting.
it not an upgrade, it's a change. my dyna is not an upgrade over my sportster. sporters handles better, more agile, zippier, lighter, lower cost to maintain... is not destroying itself... etc. love my sporty.
40k ... service history? don't want a shiney turd.
maybe ride the full dyna line then make a call. not saying don't buy it. i'm saying know what you are buying.
To me, high mileage in a short time indicates lots of highway miles. Highway miles are very easy on a machine in my region of the world and can be considered roughly half that indicated as far as wear and tear. I'm not sure how that relates to Israel.

agree sort of. the goings on in the cam chest are not to be ignored. i agree with the service records review and/or serious pre-purchase inspection.
