Default Thunderheader 2 into 1 Question

Gentlemen, I planning on getting a 2-1 system. Either the Thunderheaders or the Rineharts. My question is first, does anybody have a picture of the Thunderheaders in the black ceramic finish installed on their bikes ? Second, I plan on getting the SE stage 1 kit and a PC 3. Is their anything else I need and if I get the the PC 3, then I don't need any mapping or download correct ? Thanks in advance.

One more thing, which do you guys recommend between the two pipes mentioned above or should I get the new Vance and Hines 2-1 ?

I wanted the Rinehart when if first came out, I waited for over six months and it was still on back order!

I found a new Thunder header on Ebay for 400$ I said fugh-it and bought it.
Its ok, I consider it the old reliable stand by 2 in to 1.

the D&D fat cat gets some good revues, as well as the Rineharts. If you plan on doing a motor over 95 in. definently get these, they have a larger primary over the Thunder header

i put the thunderheaders (chrome) on a couple months ago along with the PCIII and am pretty happy with them and the performance. bought my PCIII from fuel moto with the MAP already programmed in. my bike is my daily driver and i ride 90+ miles a day and so far so good.

Here you go, but be warned, the ceramic finish on thunderheaders sucks big time. It scratches real easy, and began to pit with a few weeks. I ended up repainting mine with high heat paint and wrapping it with exhaust wrap. If I had to do it over again, I would have paid less money to get a chrome set and painted it myself.

I could be wrong on this but you mentioned doing a stage 1 and a PC III. The stage 1 will up your rev limiter to 6200 but so will the power commander. Also the Power commander basically over rides the ECU so your stage 1 would basically be null I do beleive. I could be wrong but Im pretty sure you wont need the stage 1, just the PC III. The PC III is cool in the fact that you have the option of raising your rev limiter from 5500 to 6200 if you so choose. So you can keep it where its at or bump it up to the 6200 max. The stage 1 will automatically take the limiter to 6200 no choice. Now that I think about it though its kinda weird it will over ride the fuel settings but not effect the stage 1 rev limiter increase, or maybe it will. Any way something you might want to do some research on before you spring for both.

Something else I though of though, if you do get the stage 1 and your PC III needs to be removed for some reason that would ensure your bike ran ok with any exhaust mods or a/c. Maybe that was your intention and just didnt say it. Ok sorry if this turned into a goofy reply. Just throwing out some food for thought. Good luck man!

On a side note I have the Rinehart and LOVE IT !!

The only dumb question is the one you dont ask when learning.

You wouldnt necessarily have to do an air cleaner, but personally I would strongly recommend one. You'll gave a few extra horses and have a good breathing engine. For around $100 bucks give or take you can throw one on. Its not entirely necessary but Im sure most would say strongly advise adding a high flow a/c.

Thanks Cage. One more question, What air kitdo you recommend? I'm now leaning on just getting either the Rineharts w/PC3 or the Vance and Hines w/Fuel Pak. I will not install until after my 1,000 mile service. BTW, if I do get the V&H w/PC3, I will attempt to do the install myself. Thanks again Cage.
