I have less than 200 miles on my Bassani Mega Power 2-1 exhaust. I opted for the black finish and have already noticed that there is a section of the paint that has already peeled and flaked off. What gives?

I noticed that my rear pipe was taking a bit longer to cool down, which I am assuming is due to the higher temps in the rear cylinder and the more restrictive routing of the pipe (turns forward, then around the cam cover).

Bike is tuned with a power vision, map supplied by Fuel Moto.

Could the flaking be a symptom of excessive heat?

 

That sucks! Interested to hear what they tell you, as I have the same pipe. 2500 miles, so far, no issues.

 

Stay away from the power washers,, no problem.

 

Never have power washed my bike, only wiped the pipes down with a bike cleaner and a microfibre cloth once, maybe twice.

They should be good about it. I had a similar problem with peeling at the back of my heat shields, they sent a new set of shields right away.

Could be a dodgy batch of powder but they'll sort you out
