I usually not a huge purple guy but man that color works beautifully on that bike!

My only consideration for the S model is the engine. The suspension and brakes I don't mind upgrading. The seat either way I'll opt for something better 2 up, ect.

I also need to test ride a Fat Bob. Love the way the look in pictures. Wasn't sure on the forward controls on the show room (just used to having my feet under me), but I need to give it a shot. Also might allow for some used options.

I keep hearing of a before and after on when the Dyna's had a frame change and they got better. Anyone know what year that was?

Both have mags
Both have ABS
Both have Security
Both have dual front rotors
Only 1 has TBW. Some prefer cables as the TBW may become problematic with use.
Both are fun.
1 is cheaper than the other.
Is 1 hotter than the other?
Are they both equally reliable?
Both weigh entirely too much.

The motor was the deal breaker for me. Had to have that 110 cu.

I recently upgraded from a 2015 Street Bob with a Stage-1 to a 2016 Low Rider S. The S is faster bone stock than the Street Bob with the Stage 1. Got my Road Rage 2-into-1 exhaust on now, loaded the PowerVision tuner with FuelMoto's baseline and started auto-tuning a couple days ago. After 4 or 5 auto-tune sessions, I can tell you that the FXDLS is a good bit faster than the 103ci with Stage 1. I used the same stretch of road as a baseline for testing... hope to have some actual dyno numbers in the near future.

However, abs and security are optional on the standard low rider and cost $795 and $395 so $14399 vivid black plus $1190 = $15,589 so you are getting closer to the S at $16,699 price which also includes other features such as upgraded forks and shocks and cruise control plus the 110 motor. Either way, both are great bikes and whichever one floats your boat is the one you should get.

I'm a bit of a power hound, I imagine if I go with a new one I'm going to have to get the S model. I think I'd just regret not getting the bigger engine in the long run if I bought a new bike.

Still considering finding a used one, maybe a Fat Bob. I plan on testing one out this weekend.

But in the end I'll probably end up with the S...

This is pretty much exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.

The LRS is worth the money. I love mine & it's still stock except for seat. I put a 2 up Sundowner on it for the wife. It's real comfy to me. Buddy at Harley dealership just put a 2 Brothers 2-1 exhaust on his S & dyno tuned with the Screaming Eagle Race tuner & put 95hp & 115tq down. Not to shabby for pipes & tune. Cruise control is worth the money alone. I love cruise control. And keyless ignition is sweet. ABS is nice also. For the price you get a lot of goodies &'it hauls but.

These were my thoughts when I was making this decision.
What I need - good handling, cruise, ABS, something different, Stage 1
LRS has - good handling, good brakes, cruise, abs, is different and 1/2 stage 1
LR has - abs, good brakes (all HDs come standard with abs in Aus and all Lowriders come with twin front brakes)
I can buy stage 1 and good handling but you cant upgrade the LR to cruise and being different. For the $2,500 difference getting the LRS made total sense.
Oh and while the difference between 103 and 110 wasn't a consideration when buying after riding the 110 and comparing to stock 103s that the dealership gives me as loaners, the 110 is so much better.
