Default Rear Cylinder Cut Out

Does any one know if on the newer Dyna's the EITMS system has to be enabled by the dealer or do the Dyna's have that system working from the factory?

Is this a feature that is good to have working in the summer months?

My 2016 LRS has the EITMS enabled from delivery and has kicked in while sitting in traffic...and yes I think its an excellent feature to have anything that will protect your motor from overheating can't be a bad thing.

My 2014.5 low rider did not have it enabled. I had to get the dealer to turn it on. It has to get pretty damn hot for it to activate.

Just so everyone is clear, the EITMS has absolutely nothing to do with engine temperature management; the EITMS was designed for 'rider comfort', it has nothing to do with overheating of the engine, it was designed to reduce the heat felt by the rider from the rear cylinder; it's simply another solution in search of a problem...

If you doubt me, ask HD themselves

EITMS is purely for rider comfort. When it
activates and “shuts off” the rear cylinder, it’s
not because the motor is overheating. It’s
designed to reduce the heat radiating from
the rear cylinder to the rider.

Old men in depends ,women with flaming pads, and states that won't let you lane split,I'm going to blame for it. At least the mo_co is starting to listen again I guess.

What would you expect Harley to say? Are they going to freely admit to an overheating issue?
