Switchback: Wire from headlamp

My dad was looking at his bike last night and noticed what looked to be a pigtail wire coming from around his headlight. Does anyone know what this is for? Sorry if this has been discussed before

Not positive, but I would guess to be used for the accessory lights (the 2 4" lights that would be adjacent the headlight....very similar to Road King or Heritage Softail lights).

unsure what you mean by from " around his headlight "

if you mean up inside the nacelle there is a unused switched
power there which is for the running lights on European models
here in the states the majority of us use that for our aux light power

If you're referring to the blue/black wire: Like 1H1DC said, that's used on non USA models to provide power to the front running/fog light
