Installed my 11" covered Progressive HD 412's last night and did my test ride to work today (72 miles round trip). Shocks were on the lowest setting. I even went over a set of railway tracks without severely bottoming out. I think I will try the next setting up. I like the shocks alot more support than stock. I weigh around 195lbs. Bike handles nicely.I would advise anyone putting shorter shocks on to check under their rear fender for wire clearance. I'm glad I did because the left rear signal wire is attached to the fender with a metal clip with double sided tape. The tape had failed and the signal wires were hanging down and must have been rubbing against the tire when I was riding as the wire was exposed.I taped everything up and pulled the slack up through the tail light for now. Not too long after I bought my bike the rear harness had come "unglued" and was hanging out the side of my bike. I noticed it just in time.
They look good, kind of old school in keeping with the theme of the bike and the black blends in real well. Nice job. Let us know how you make out on the next shock setting.
That blends real nice with the bike. Good to hear the support is better than stock too. I've always liked the look of covers...might install the chrome covered 412's on mine after this season.
Looks real nice. I like it. Just an FYI...I just pulled off a set of 11" cheapo's that I ran for about a year, and put my stock 12.6"ershocks back on. I'm going to go with the 12" 412's soon as I rais the $$.
The reason I did this is because I blew them out a feew Fridays ago. Tore up all my under fender wireing and misc bolts, and "grooved" a brand new ME880! Needless to say, it was a chitty night. But befor that, I would occasionaly bottom out on the road (mostly sharp bumps, etc).
Thearea that would hit the most oftenwas the front-left edge of my rear fender hitting against the belt guard. Now, I hate running the guard, and would love to pull them off, but now I'm worried about this fender edge hitting the belt itself. I'll see with the new 12"er's.
I noticed you are running no guards with 11's, just thought I'd share my exp. with ya. Looks great, but watch your belt too.
Thanks , and thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I'll avoid all that. I already used up one of my 9 lives when the rear fender harness came unglued and dropped. I will keep an eye on the belt for sure.

No Prob.Love thesig pic. Nice and simple. It really shows off your ride nicely. I really love the look of the front end and the black shocks, sprung seat. Gives it that old school FLH Bobber look. Maybe think about some fish-tails or upsweaps?
