Well I was going to go for a ride this morning on my 14 Fat Bob. Before the ride I was going to plug in the FP3 to monitor the sensors and perform an Auto Tune. Well I pull the left side cover and low and behold. I placed a call to my Dealer for a replacement harness and labor charge. I am waiting for a return call.
Ouch that is not good and probably not a cheap fix. I have 5 bikes in a extra garage that I am not in everyday but have mouse traps and glue traps everywhere just so I do not have that problem. My buddy had mice eat his harness after the repair he put out a bunch of moth ***** in the area of his bike. He said he has not had that issue since ..Good luck .
That's not good. I wonder how long they were dining on your harness to chew up that much.
I keep a poison trap in my garage and can see where they've eaten the bait. Haven't seen any telltale turds lately so I guess it works. I also keep a couple of socks filled with mothballs hanging under the bike during the winter.
What a pain!
I put those two sided plastic ones around the house. You usually see em around restaurants and such. Put the bait inside and close it up. OR if you are the sadistic type, get those electronic ones. They work awesome but require resetting em.
that sucks.. what is it with rodents chewing wires.
try some moth ***** in some old tube socks or maybe those glue pads traps
They chew the wires to shave their teeth down, Mice/Rats teeth continuously grow and would grow thru their skulls if not constantly shaved down, they chew wires specifically just to maintain their teeth, kinda like dental insurance but for rodents.
Aw, man; that looks nasty. I go with the tried and true approach; I'm a cat person and my cats have full access to my garage, they delight in hunting out there. Not a bug, spider, cricket, or furry rodent would stand a chance. I also feed the local outdoor cat population and they're always hanging around... no rodent ever has or is getting through that gauntlet
