my dyna came with well made small throw over bags and ive come to like them. when me and the lady are gone for the weekends its just enough room for some tools, phone, jacket liners and her purse for the other side
for around town part runs its almost needed.
the bike is setup for both of us so even though i like it stripped down, i dont want to rebuild the bike every monday to do it again on saturday. i just set the rear pre-load and go.
if not soft bags you can join the SOA hype and pay $1500 for crappy factory FXDP hard bags
problem is alot of things i wouldnt put on a "standard" dyna would still look good on a dyna wide glide.

...so, reading between the lines, you're saying you'll never put hard bags on your Dyna?
winner! yeah no hardbags. i like lane splitting too much. funny thing is my GF hates baggers. id think she'd want all that luxury. she laughs when she sees some dude in shorts and tennis shoes riding his electra glide around by himself.
im all for small windshields but hate big road king styles. they push n pull you in the wind too.
+leather tassel lever covers

Cool. I need a little storage for basic tools, a liter of water, jacket liner, and enough extra space for small errands. I just can't find anything I like. No rear fender makes it hard. I may end up with a tool roll up front and a swingarm wedge bag. Dunno.
i always liked tool/blanket rolls up front. reminds me of easy rider.
maybe you can make a detachable rear center bag to sit where your fender was? make it follow the tire line like a bobtail fender?
