Is it possible at all to mount switchback controls to the FXDB, they're both dynas so logically my brain is telling me this would work?
I currently have a set of HD forward controls, I'm 6'4 but larger thighed and my legs hit the SE heavy breather and it's a pain to reach the brake, short inseam I guess.
What I was thinking of for comfort purposes was to swap the forwards on my bike for controls from a Switchback and ditch the SE Heavy breather. Would it be a fair deal to trade my Heavy Breather (+ chrome cover) for a set of switchback controls? Or would it be more in my interest to trade my HD forward controls to someone with a switchback?
Don't know how anyone with thick legs can use their controls with this damn thing on.
I have Switchback footboards in my FXDB. The brake rod did not fit as is and needed to be straightened. Had it done in a local metal shop for pennies and re-painted myself. Otherwise a straight fit. My header pipes are stock but be aware that not all exhausts will not work with the Switchback boards.
The Switchback footboards will fit on the 06 and newer Dyna frame, I have them on my 10' Street Bob, very easy install. If you are putting them on the bike you have in your sig pic, I think you might run into issues with your forward exhaust pipe. I think the bend at the bottom of the pipe might have clearance issues, but I am not 100% sure.
Here is a pic of my setup with some Rinehart exhaust, you can see how my pipe has a different bend in it (as a reference).
Julia's Dad, did you see my response to the question you posted on my page about the half moon boards? If so, was it helpful?

Before you go through all that expense,, Maybe, you can find an extended or wider brake lever pad for your controls.
I put Kuryakyn forwards on my FDX and had that problem,(30" inseam),
I bought their extended foot pad and I can reach the pedal comfortably now.
Believe it or not that extra 1" made a difference.
