I have read a bunch of ways on rear wheel alignment, my last time I had my bike on the jack I set mine by moving adjustment screws till belt on rear was exactly in the middle of pulley, anybody else do theirs this way? terry
Service Manual for my '14 SB states rear wheel is on the ground. Rear wheel must be on the ground to get belt tension correct.
Two main things you're trying to accomplish is belt tension and a near as perfect centered wheel in the adjusters. If you get those correct the belt will be straight in alignment as it need be with the front pulley.
Hope this helps
Oh yeah, I use a front wheel chock from Harbor Freight, it was $45 or so with a coupon, hard to beat that!
