My 2016 low rider with 1700+ miles on it also has a 120R motor on it. I Have had no issues with bike or performance and I rode it last evening without any problems. No misses or glitches but after I backed it into garage I noticed something on exhaust and I wiped it off as I always wipe my bike down after every ride. I looked for any oil coming from bike and saw none but today I noticed a few small drops of oil under the center of bike. a few drops but not a lot of oil. I am thinking it may be a plug or bolt loosened but next thought is maybe a gasket of some kind. I hope not a gasket because then what will they have to do to get to the gasket? Pull the motor???? Next scary thought is the motor is not under warranty but I think the gear box and transmission is because it is original. The motor portion is not under warranty because it is a scremin eagle race motor. But I think my dealer said the gear box and transmission is covered. Take it Monday to drop it off and cross my fingers! Opinions or thoughts anyone!
All that worry over a couple of drops of oil? Clean the lower engine and transmission areas as best you can then go for a long ride. Come back and place a piece of card board under the bike so you can get a better idea of just where the drip maybe originating from.
Second; clean it thoroughly with Brakeclean or similar, take it for a ride, and put some paper, etc under it, and check it again. Take a pic of where it is coming from if you want anybody around here to help out
sorry but I understated the problem. The oil leak is a leak not just a drop here and there! I am hoping it is a loose bolt or plug. But this bike is new and aleak like this should not be. It is a small puddle! Maybe dime size 2 or 3 spots.
Did you check the torque on your plugs? Or inspect for loose bolts anywhere? Again cleaning and identifying the leak yourself could save you and the dealership some time.
Clean the bottom of the bike, take it for at least a 20-minute ride. Let it sit and cool off, put on a white glove, and run your hand along the bottom until you find the leak.
