I have seen quite a few bikes with fairly wide front wheels/tires. Is there a benefit or advantage to having a wider front wheel/tire over one that is thinner?
Do they handle better, corner better?
If you're "used" to narrow front tires, a wider front my feel "heavy" and not want to turn. If your used to a wide front then it should feel similiar. If you have a narrow front now, to see what a wide front feels like, just let half the air out of your front tire and go for a very short ride (like around the block.)
Don't forget to air back up when you're done with this experiment.

Somehow I'm thinking this "experiment" would not yield an accurate comparison of two fully inflated tires! Thanks for the reply
16" front rides really nice, leans effortlessly into a turn & feels very planted & solid. And I like look.
21"s always feel skittish to me. A fat 16" up front is going to have a larger contact patch than a skinny 21".
That said, my only experience with 21"s is with skinny little 90/90-21s. Would have to think the wider/taller 120/70-21 would be a much different beast.
