Default 117 longevity questions

just curious how many miles you guys have on your 117s, what problems you've had, and how much horsepower/torque you're pushing. Dyno sheets would be great.

I I will be doing my build within the next couple months and was wondering what issues you guys have had, I'm trying to decide whether or not to upgrade my clutch and do any upgrades/mods to my bottom end to handle the power. Please include any performance upgrades you have made that aren't included in the se117 kit

While we're at it, does anyone have REAL dyno results? I only ask cause he's charts are the same for the bolt on 110, and 117. I also find it interesting that the before/after torque for the 110/117 kit is 90/115, yet supposedly the lowrider s has 116 ft lbs from the factory

I have no numbers yet so no help there but I would address the clutch and possibly the basket at a minimum.

Although it's a Touring Rig, I was the first at my local dealership to upgrade to the 117" Pro Race Motor upgrade.

Came with a new clutch spring, (in kit) sent my bottom end to Dark Horse for the works, different cams, lifters installed with ALL NEW inner engine parts, new SE Comp spocket.

I went the extra mile with all the work as my bike was soon to be out of ESP Warranty. Trully Runs, Shifts, Starts, Idles better then before as a 110".

Runs Unreal, night and day difference from my Stage II 110" set up!

Sending out an set of 110" Heads to get CNC and hand ported, and then retuned.

Looking at about 125+ish HP and 135+ish TQ when all done!

Go for it, you'll be very Stoked!

I thought the numbers were interesting too, then realized the 116 advertised on the S is crankshaft HP , the others are RWHP right?

That's badass man. I'm going back and fourth as to whether or not I should just wait til I have money to have the crank beefed up as well as the clutch/basket. Or if I can run the 117 for a season then start buildin the lower end.

YES, as numbers to the rear wheel.

One of the members here got 138 HP & 141 TQ on his CVO King. Another guy with a more aggressive cam was about 140ish HP & 145ish TQ!

For a 117" motor, not bad.

I choose a more mild torque cam Genesis 577 cam.

*Nick- I know it's tempting to go for it now, but might be worth it to wait and get the bottom end done at the same time. I was out 6-7 weeks in all for everything.

Others have had no problem with their stock bottom end. But I can sleep at night and not worry bout it.

I appreciate the info. What exactly did you do to the bottom end? Maybe I should do that now then save for the big bore kit for spring.
