Default I need your thoughts?

Ok, I bought this 2015 Dyna Wide Glide last August from Southern Thunder Harley Davidson Mississippi. I have a ton of ideas I want to do with it, but I want to make the right moves first before changing everything. So, I first bought a V&H FP3 because its going to be needed before I change intake, exhaust, ect... I removed the stock baffles and installed a "Velosirapter" velocity stack. Called V&H for the map to meet my needs. Flashed the new map, and this now is not the Harley I bought earlier! (Why cant Harley just make them run like this from the start?) I installed a 1-3/4" lowering kit in the back and adjusted my stock shocks to the "5" setting because I'm 240lbs. Doesn't bottom out thank God. Installed a one up seat and fender bib then led turn signals with smoked lens. A small bag for registration and such and now I'm at a dead end? I never thought I would be here. I need suggestions, ideas y'all would do? I'm open to anything. I don't want a "Cookie Cutter" Harley!

Velocity stack
How she sits now.
This was what i started with.

First, welcome! That's a great looking bike and I hope you enjoy the heck out of it. Getting ideas from an Internet forum can be quirky at best, you should do research and look at lots of Harley **** to fuel your imagination!

In my case I focused most of my first mods on comfort and performance, like handlebars that worked better for me, new rear shocks (personally not a fan of reducing travel), and working front shocks as well. I moved on to plenty of other things after that!

Welcome! Nice choice Best bike HD builds...

I agree with Robbyville, comfort and performance first. The front forks are where I'd start along with better tires. I upgraded the front forks with Progressive Heavy springs early on and it made a world of difference. I weigh 95 pounds less than you and the Heavy springs were the right choice; Öhlins are on my wish list. And as for tires, Pirelli Night Dragons

If you plan on keeping the stock Tommy Gun exhaust consider de-catting the header to help reduce heat.

The sky is the limit on these bikes, my Wide Glide looks nothing like it did on the dealer's floor; search and read through the threads in the Dyna forum, we're all very proud of our bikes and love to post images of our mods and upgrades...

I love how a couple of changes to the WG makes it look like this:

You have IMHO the best colour and have nailed the stance.

I really debated over my "fat bob vs wide glide" purchase. Even though I wanted dual disks and less rake solely because of how good you can make the wide glide look.

You can take a bikes as little or as far as you/your finances permit.

My ideal WG build (After having the motor dialled in) would be:
  • Higher bars (probably 14")
  • Wheel upgrade F&R - Wider taller
  • Rear air ride
  • Upgraded front fork internals

Some inspiration (I can't recall the owners usernames)

Throw an old school styled sissy bar on, check Ginz choppers, Slim's Fab Farm and Bowman's Sissy bars for ideas. If I had a wide glide I'd keep it minimalistic with a retro feel to it. Just me. The guys above are right I think comfort and performance before looks...To an extent. I'm not throwing this windshield on to be comfortable.

First, welcome, now you still have a lot you can do depending on your preferences, just to name a few: sissy bar, saddlebags if you need em, handlebars, I think with the stance (which in my opinion is perfect) 12-16 ape hangers would go best, heated grips if you want em, floorboards, crash bar, led headlight/7 inch headlight bucket, mirrors, performance upgrades, there's so much more.

Let it percolate. Surf the web and make note of other bikes that you like, sussing out WHY you like them.

In time, you will know what to do. Until then, it's done. Don't force it.

Bike is an extension of the biker riding it..., the goal..., always..., personalize it

How it looks / turns out - who gives a **** what anyone else thinks

You want suggestions / ideas -> take a long look into your soul

Then proceed accordingly

My personal thoughts:
either add some apes and a tall narrow old school sissy bar or a set of drag bars and then no sissy.
I'd either change the exhaust or at least put the black heat shields and mufflers on the change it up a little.
First and for most I'd ditch the reflects but that's the freebie I always do to make the bike stand out.

Like said up top. Ride it first with what you have, unless you're dead set on the mods. If it was me, my next purchase would be an old school sissy bar. Nothing too tall though...
