Thank you all for the fast replies i figured i was going to get charged an arm a leg and a few fingers to get this fixed. I'm glad I went here before the mechanic I was going to go to.
While I've not owned a 06 up dyna, it looks like 1 or 2 of the bolts used to hold the exhaust bracket on use the same holes for the transmission trap door with are in the transmission case .. If so the trap door might need removing to install helicoils.. If so the job could get expensive..

The only thing I can say is have someone look at it.. You could try posting pics here but it will likely need a mechanic/machinist to inspect personally. Might even need some partial disassembly..
These should be the bolts that retain the exhaust brackets. Below the transmission cover, not part of it.....
Besides fastening the exhaust bracket, those bolts hold the transmission trap door in place.. The screws thread directly into the transmission housing. Run them loose and you could get oil from tranny leaking out.. Mechanic may need to pull the door to repair the threads. While there are ways to shortcut, it typically means the tranny needs to be pulled which means the whole primary needs to come off..

Yep, I get it, but they don't hold the chrome "trap door" in place, they hold the bottom edge of the transmission side plate in place. That's the point I was trying to make. The issue is the same though, getting to the threaded area in the case to properly tap and install inserts would require pulling the side plate. Bummer for the OP....

The trap door ain't the chrome one. It's what you call the transmission side plate..
