So I recently got an 02 dyna in a trade this is my first Harley and I was wondering the best way to lowering it a little.

Looks familiar for some reason. Be aware that the front end was swapped. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I'd guess one of the 49mm dual disk Low Riders.

As far as lowering, new shocks out back and a lowering set for the front. Progressive and Burly brands are popular, but there are many others

If you're really pinched for cash, you csn use lowering blocks in the rear. Not sure if there is a super cheap way to drop the front.

Depends on how low. If you are on budget, some used stock Springs should bring that bike down an inch or two. That bike Looks raised

Good catch. It does look a bit tall now that you mention it.

the rear has progressive shocks I think 13 or 13.5 inch if I lower the back a little is it going to make the bike handle weird or will I not notice if I just do an inch or so.

The bike won't feel weird, you'll just lose a little clearance. The key thing u will sacrifice though is comfort. Any aftermarket shock such as progressive is pretty much better in comfort compared to the stock shocks.

if you still want to maintain comfort, then go for an aftermarket 12 inch shock.

you pay for what you get. $$$ welcome to the money pit.

Ive always had dirt bikes but these are a whole different kind of expensive. Can you move the forks up in the triple clamps like on a dirt bike?

You can just make sure you have clearance. Mine is 5.5" of total travel in the front forks who knows about yours. The safest way is to pop a cap and take the spring out and measure travel. Then you can know for sure.

I'd keep it higher. Guys that know Dynas tend to add height to the suspension for a good reason.

HDs tend to come out of the factory with "sub optimal" suspension clearance. You sacrifice some comfort and handling for looks.

But if you just want looks, go for it!

a bit of a tangent...

But I notice you have a earlier Narrowglide wheel that uses 3/4" Tapered wheel bearings. Those sliders are made for 1"/25mm axles, so someone did something up there...maybe "turned" down the axle for 3/4" bearings.

Also, that narrowglide wheel must be using a rotor or caliper spacers in that midglide...can you post another pic of the brake side of the wheel
