Default Tpms

Anyone ever use a tpms on your bike? Came across the FOBO bike tpms and it looks convenient for checking tire pressure. Just open the app and check pressures. I wonder if it would cause any balancing issues...

TPMS will make riders (and drivers) more concious of their air pressures. This should reduce failures on the road.

I do believe that TPMS is a great idea for many riders, but if you're running any sort of performance oriented tire you need to be checking tire pressures before that bike comes out of the garage on every ride. I don't know how sensitive the TPMS systems are, but on a performance tire 1 or 2 pounds is a distinct change in handling characteristics of the bike. I'll keep trusting my pre-ride T-CLOCS...

I just ordered a set, and downloaded the app. The app looks pretty intuitive. It lets you set up the psi and a min and max psi. It will send and alert if it falls out of the range. I'm not sure how accurate it will be, but I'll probably double check it every now and then to see how accurate the readings are. I just like the idea of being able to check psi without having to take off a saddle bag and roll the bike around to get to the valve stem.

A good TOOL for the mindful, but yet another CRUTCH for everybody else. One of these years we'll make the world so idiot proof that there's nothing left but idiots.

I had FOBOs for a while on my Limited, same thing... one sensor was a battery eater. The factory replaced the whole kit, no charge, very prompt.

What I didn't like was having no display unless I wanted to mount my phone on the bars, which I don't.

There was one other issue I didn't like.... the FOBOs wouldn't warn on a sudden air discharge. The sensors just assumed they had been removed from the bike. There was talk of the factory changing the software, but I don't know if they ever did.

I ended up going with the Steelmate system. Mounted the little display on my media compartment door. Get realtime on the fly information I can see.

My only gripe with the Steelmate system is you have to move the bike a few feet to make it come alive, a bit of a hassle if you want to check your pressure before leaving the garage.
