Default 2004 FXDI Big Bore kit/cam combo

I have a 2004 Dyna FXDI I am installing a S&S 97" big bore kit and would like to upgrade the cams at the same time. I have already updated the cam plate to screaming eagle 2006 specs and do not want to any head work. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing no one replied because you didn't really state a question. I will assume your asking what cams to get?

if so you need to say how you use the bike....

Yeah I'm not really sure what to go with and I don't want to have to do any head work I'm on a budget. I am looking for ideas on what I should go with for cams.

I think you should go talk to an engine builder in your area to find what will work for you

With a 97 kit and no head work you'd want to use a fairly mild cam like a andrews 26 or 37. I'd limit the lift to 0.510.. You will also need a tuner of some sort or the bike won't run right.

Thanks for the suggestion I have a PC5 I got from fuel moto so I can get a custom map from them at any time to match any changes I do. Thanks again.

I'm going with an andrews 37. It will work for now and when my heads come later I will have the heads made to work with those cams. My buddy has s and s .510's, essentially an Andrews 37 and his bike runs. That is with an 88 and stock heads

If you got the S&S 97" kit with the 9.7:1 compression then you should be solid with the Andrews 37. You might want to get a valve job done on the heads while they are off. There are some other mods that help with lifter rattle and blow by you can do at the same time with little expense.
