Got my bike out for the first time this year. Over the winter I changed coil cover and electrical panel cover. If I go over half throttle the engine light comes on. If I let off the light goes off. It runs fine. I don't notice anything different
How does it run when the light comes on? Does the light ever flash? What year/model/mods? Do you have codes? With that symptom it could be many things. Tps sensor/throttle body, anything that would cause it to run rich/lean at higher rpm, a lot of possibilities. To state the obvious, check fuses, dtc's, test battery, and get us more info. Best of luck.
It's an 06 super glide it has short shots and hyper charger which I'm going to change shortly. It runs just like normal when the light is on. The light comes on and goes back off within 3-5 seconds
No offense to the previous post, but wild guesses aren't gonna get you anywhere. Get us a dtc so we can guide you through the diagnostic procedure. Will the light come on if you rev it in neutral? If so check voltage with a volt meter while revving it. With the engine running, voltage should be around 14.6 volts. If it's significantly over/under, then it could set a voltage code. You are best off getting us a dtc though.

Just giving the guy a place to look. Voltage low errors cans be significantly lower than 14.6 but not knowing the year and model bike , it can vary. Finding the DTC can vary also depending on the year, efi etc.. Since no year was given, it's a wild assed guess.. It might not even be a system voltage issue.
