i have a 06 lowrider and i want to have a wide glide front end put on and 21' wheel also would like to lower it even more and would like some more lenght i get all kinds of answers when it comes to raked trees some shops say ok up to 5 degrees some shops say not to use them at all this is getting confuzing i just want to make the bike look long and low and still have a great handling bike what should i do ?/ thank you
All I can tell you is that you need to make sure that your trail in the steering stays within the parameters that establish good handling. I cannot tell you for sure what that would be either. You need to be talking to someone who commonly does frame work and custom work on bikes. They will be able to tell you about the geometry that is needed to maintain a safe bike.
If while talking to them, they seem unfamiliar with that, then they most likely are unfamiliar. You will also need to do some research either at the library or a good book store or even on the internet about the geometry that you will need. If you don't educate yourself then you won't know if the service department is BS'ing you.
