Im finishing up my 99 FXDG rebuild. The bike was in a million pieces when I got it. Its just about ready to start but got no spark. Im thinking its the bank angle sensor since its not mounted anywhere. I have no idea where its supposed to go and my manual doesn't show location.
Anyone have a pic of where its supposed to be? Or is there a way to bypass?
As I recall, the bank angle sensor was attached to a bracket with a self tapping screw mounted to the back side of the electrical panel using the top coil bracket nut...
On my 99 WG it's freakin' buried above and to the rear of the starter. Not the easiest thing to ge to. I believe I had to remove the entire electrical box and sub-panels to get to it. sorry, I didn't take any pics.
I dont have the bracket but Ive tried to start it with the BAS in all positions and still no spark. Not sure if thats the issue or not, but is there a way to bypass it?

Light green/gray goes to the Ignition Module.
Gray is switched hot from ignition switch.
Black is ground.
I can't determine what the switch actually does with those wires.
It says to test by placing a magnet on top of the sensor to pull the metal disc inside up off its seat. Not real helpful if you can't start the bike to begin with.
If I had a sensor out to test, I would gladly do so for ya. sorry, that's the best I can do.
Being unwilling to burn up the ignition module with blind testing, I probably pull out the sensor and shake the hell out of it to make sure I could hear the disc rattling and then set it upright and tap the front to be sure the disc re-seats
I hear the disc moving around inside. I guess I can monitor voltage on the wire that goes to the ignition module while moving the sensor around and see what the voltage does.
