Well I had the heat shields re-powder coated for 120.00 bucks with high temp powder coat paint. I don't know what the hell kind of paint was on it before I tried sanding it with 80 grit and that crap wouldn't come off. My powder coat guy said he had to dip them in acid 3 different times to get the old paint off. They came out good no bubbling so far.
